The epic Star Wars desert motif begins with the beginning in A New Hope. Luke is chasing after R2D2 who has escaped to continue his mission. Luke and C3PO are overtaken by the Sand People but the very person they have previously discussed is now their rescuer.
After Ben Kenobi scares off the Sand People, he first speaks to R2D2 hiding in the shadows and then turns to Luke who is regaining consciousness from the attack.
“Rest easy son. You’ve had a busy day. You’re fortunate to be all in one piece.”
Luke shakes his head and looks up.
“Ben? Ben Kenobi? Boy, am I glad to see you!”
“The ____ wastes are not to be taken lightly. Tell me young Luke, what brings you out this far?
“This little droid.”
Oh sure, Luke, blame it on the droid, when it was you that removed the restraining bolt. It’s all good though because this is how Luke will meet Obe Wan. He couldn’t Google him or find him on the galactic facebook or instagram. His uncle discouraged finding him and pushed Luke away from searching for him.
But a “bad” decision had Luke scrambling into risky territory. He has put himself in danger. He has been hurt, but saved. C3PO has been torn into pieces, but he can be put back together. They have made an important step in the journey though.
You may have made some mistakes. You may have gotten off track because of those mistakes. You may have gotten hurt or had to glue some pieces back. The journey is still there though. Make the best of where the path is leading you. Obe Wan maybe helping you up right now.
