Winding up the latter part of The Force Awakens . . . Against all odds, Han, Chewy and Finn have successfully completed two missions. Behind enemy lines, they have disabled the defense systems of the Star Killer Base and they’ve not only found Rey, but also “rescued” her. (She seemed to be doing pretty okay though, wasn’t she?) They have escaped the oscillator confines to head to the Millennium Falcon and depart the planet. They look overhead to see the air combat in full throes.
“They’re in trouble.” Han observes. “We can’t leave.” He turns to the group, “My friend’s got a bag full of explosives. Let’s use them.”
The scene switches to the Rebellion battle watch center. General Leia Organa braces herself as the reports come in.
“Two more X-wings down. That’s half our fleet destroyed.”
“And their weapon will be fully charged in 10 minutes. It would take a miracle to save us now.”
A miracle. The Bible and the history books are only complete with the stories of extraordinary events – miracles. Some battles are turned for the simplest cause. Against tremendous numbers or extreme circumstances, a miracle evolves. And it takes that much – the extreme – to make the solution that much more powerful.
So if you are that far down the road in a bad direction, believe in the miracle. Events and people are working to save you. Hang on and believe.
